Severance and unemployment, do they overlap? - first time posting

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I am in Providence, in case local advice matters. The agreement mentions a release and a payment schedule. How did your state treat it?

Before signing, I asked a friend who is a lawyer to look at the agreement. It was a short conversation and worth it.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
