Severance and unemployment, do they overlap? after 3 years as a software tester

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I have been trying to stay organised about it. The agreement mentions a release and a payment schedule. How did your state treat it?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.
