Severance and unemployment, do they overlap? - 7 weeks in

I was offered severance of 5 weeks after being let go as a marketing coordinator and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I am in Dallas, in case local advice matters. I also wonder about the job-search requirement. How did your state treat it?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
