Severance and unemployment, do they overlap? - 2 months and counting

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I worked as a quality inspector before this. I also wonder about the job-search requirement. How did your state treat it?

Before signing, I asked a friend who is a lawyer to look at the agreement. It was a short conversation and worth it.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
