Severance and unemployment, do they overlap? - 13 months and counting

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. It has been a long 23 weeks. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Who should I ask before signing?

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.
