Not sure if my job search activity counts (Nashville)

I have been applying to about 16 jobs a week as an IT help-desk technician, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

I was asked for my log once, after six months. Having it in a spreadsheet made it painless.
