Not sure if my job search activity counts - first time posting

I am keeping a spreadsheet of applications, but I worry it is not what the agency expects. I am in Austin, in case local advice matters. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.
