Not sure if my job search activity counts

I have been applying to about 17 jobs a week as a security officer, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. This is my first time dealing with any of this. Some days I only network by email or attend a job fair.

Check the handbook on your state's claim site. It lists what counts in my state, and workshops were on the list.
