Not sure if my job search activity counts (Baltimore)

I have been applying to about 16 jobs a week as a mechanic, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. I worked as a mechanic before this. My state says to keep records for a year. Do interviews and workshops count?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
