Not sure if my job search activity counts - any advice?

I have been applying to about 17 jobs a week as a forklift operator, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. There are 17 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
