Not sure if my job search activity counts

I have been applying to about 10 jobs a week as a teaching assistant, but I am unsure what my state wants in the log. This is my first time dealing with any of this. My state says to keep records for a year. What do you record?

I record the date, the company, the job title, how I applied and any contact name. It takes a minute each and it covered me when I was asked for proof.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
