My first unemployment payment still has not arrived

I was laid off as a welding apprentice and filed right away, and I have been certifying every week. It has been a long 26 weeks. The page shows my claim as open but no payment date. What would you check first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 5 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
