My first unemployment payment still has not arrived, dental hygienist here

I filed my claim 5 weeks ago after being let go as a dental hygienist. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. Is there a step I could have missed?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

When I finally got through, the agent said my employer had responded late. Once that cleared, back pay came in one payment.
