My first unemployment payment still has not arrived - 9 months and counting

I was laid off as an accounts payable clerk and filed right away, and I have been certifying every week. There are 9 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The page shows my claim as open but no payment date. What would you check first?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

When I finally got through, the agent said my employer had responded late. Once that cleared, back pay came in one payment.
