My first unemployment payment still has not arrived - 7 weeks in

I filed my claim 7 weeks ago after being let go as a copywriter. There are 6 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The page shows my claim as open but no payment date. What would you check first?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 8 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
