Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? - any advice?

The COBRA quote for my family is $1050 a month and I do not know how to afford it. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. My spouse has a chronic condition, so dropping coverage feels risky. How did you decide?

If you have a planned treatment, COBRA can make sense for a few months. Otherwise look at the marketplace first.
