Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? after 8 years as a pharmacy technician

I was offered COBRA and the monthly cost is more than I expected as a pharmacy technician. It has been a long 9 weeks. My spouse has a chronic condition, so dropping coverage feels risky. How did you decide?
