Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? after 16 years as a software tester

The COBRA quote for my family is $1050 a month and I do not know how to afford it. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I saw that marketplace plans might cost less. Did anyone switch mid-year?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.

If you have a planned treatment, COBRA can make sense for a few months. Otherwise look at the marketplace first.
