Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? after 16 years as a quality inspector

I just got my COBRA paperwork and the deadline to decide is close. Any experience at all would help. I saw that marketplace plans might cost less. Did anyone switch mid-year?

A quick call to the plan's member line cleared up two things for us that the letter did not.
