Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? after 12 years as an office manager

The COBRA quote for my family is $500 a month and I do not know how to afford it. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I saw that marketplace plans might cost less. How did you decide?

Check what the notice says about the election period and when coverage starts. Mine allowed a short window to choose.
