Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? - 6 months and counting

I was offered COBRA and the monthly cost is more than I expected as a line cook. I worked as a line cook before this. My old employer will not help with the premium.

If you have a planned treatment, COBRA can make sense for a few months. Otherwise look at the marketplace first.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
