Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? - 5 months and counting

The COBRA quote for my family is $300 a month and I do not know how to afford it. I worked as a store manager before this. My old employer will not help with the premium. How did you decide?

If you have a planned treatment, COBRA can make sense for a few months. Otherwise look at the marketplace first.
