Is COBRA worth it after a layoff? - 11 months and counting

I just got my COBRA paperwork and the deadline to decide is close. I am in San Diego, in case local advice matters. My old employer will not help with the premium. Did anyone switch mid-year?

If you have a planned treatment, COBRA can make sense for a few months. Otherwise look at the marketplace first.
