ID verification problems, anyone solved this? - what worked for you?

I do not have a current driver's licence and they want one. It has been a long 5 weeks. Nobody answers the phone. Can another ID be used?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
