ID verification problems, anyone solved this? after 15 years as a customer-service rep

I do not have a current driver's licence and they want one. I am in St. Louis, in case local advice matters. Nobody answers the phone. Can another ID be used?

Write down the date and reference number each time you try. They asked for it when I finally got through.
