ID verification problems, anyone solved this?

I do not have a current driver's licence and they want one. I am in Boston, in case local advice matters. The in-person office has long lines. What finally worked for you?

Check the list of accepted documents on the official site. Mine included things I did not expect, like a passport card.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it last year, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
