ID verification problems, anyone solved this? - 12 months and counting

I do not have a current driver's licence and they want one. There are 14 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. The in-person office has long lines. Can another ID be used?

What worked for me was going to the local workforce centre, where staff helped with the verification. It took about an hour.
