Health insurance gap after a layoff - first time posting

My family's coverage ended with the layoff and we have a prescription we cannot skip. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I do not want a gap in coverage. Is there help filling out the forms?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
