Health insurance gap after a layoff - any advice?

My employer coverage ended at the end of the month and I am trying to work out what to do as an insurance claims processor. There are 8 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I do not want a gap in coverage. What did you choose and how was the process?

Compare the monthly price with the deductible. A cheap plan with a huge deductible can cost more if you need care.
