Health insurance gap after a layoff - any advice?

My family's coverage ended with the layoff and we have a prescription we cannot skip. There are 12 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I do not want a gap in coverage. What did you choose and how was the process?

Compare the monthly price with the deductible. A cheap plan with a huge deductible can cost more if you need care.
