Health insurance gap after a layoff - 6 months and counting

I have 10 weeks left on my current insurance and I am comparing options. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I think my income this year might qualify for a subsidy. How fast did coverage start?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 6 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
