Health insurance gap after a layoff

My employer coverage ended at the end of the month and I am trying to work out what to do as a barista. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I think my income this year might qualify for a subsidy. What did you choose and how was the process?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
