Got severance, how does it affect benefits?, hotel front-desk agent here

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Did you file straight away?

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it settled down once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
