Got severance, how does it affect benefits? - any advice?

I was offered severance of 12 weeks after being let go as an operations analyst and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I worked as an operations analyst before this. I have a mortgage and need to plan.

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 13 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.
