Got severance, how does it affect benefits? after 4 years as a hotel front-desk agent

I was offered severance of 4 weeks after being let go as a hotel front-desk agent and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I worked as a hotel front-desk agent before this. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Who should I ask before signing?

Thanks for writing this out. I went through something close to it 2 months ago, and it got easier once I kept a simple log of every call and form.
