Got severance, how does it affect benefits? after 17 years as a production planner

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. Any experience at all would help. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Did you file straight away?

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.
