Got severance, how does it affect benefits? after 15 years as an accountant

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I have a mortgage and need to plan.

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
