Got severance, how does it affect benefits? - 7 months and counting

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I also wonder about the job-search requirement. Did you file straight away?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
