Got severance, how does it affect benefits?

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I worked as an administrative assistant before this. I have a mortgage and need to plan. How did your state treat it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
