First unemployment deposit is late, what should I check? - first time posting

I applied for unemployment in San Diego 16 weeks ago and the status page still says pending. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. Is there a step I could have missed?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.

When I finally got through, the agent said my employer had responded late. Once that cleared, back pay came in one payment.
