First unemployment deposit is late, what should I check?

I filed my claim 3 weeks ago after being let go as a teaching assistant. There are 4 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I called the state line four times and only reached a recording. Is there a step I could have missed?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
