Does severance delay my unemployment claim? (update)

I was offered severance of 13 weeks after being let go as a payroll clerk and I am unsure how it affects benefits. Any experience at all would help. I have a mortgage and need to plan. Did you file straight away?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.
