Does severance delay my unemployment claim? (update)

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. I also wonder about the job-search requirement. How did your state treat it?

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
