Does severance delay my unemployment claim? (San Diego)

I was offered severance of 14 weeks after being let go as a hotel front-desk agent and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I am in San Diego, in case local advice matters. I have a mortgage and need to plan. How did your state treat it?

I filed on day one anyway and reported the severance honestly. The agency decided what to do about the timing.
