Does severance delay my unemployment claim?, sales associate here

I was offered severance of 7 weeks after being let go as a sales associate and I am unsure how it affects benefits. There are 7 people counting on me, so I am trying to be careful. I have a mortgage and need to plan. How did your state treat it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
