Does severance delay my unemployment claim?, IT help-desk technician here

I was offered severance of 3 weeks after being let go as an IT help-desk technician and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I would rather hear the honest version than the polite one. The agreement mentions a release and a payment schedule. Did you file straight away?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It saved me later.
