Does severance delay my unemployment claim? - first time posting

I was offered severance of 16 weeks after being let go as a software tester and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I have been trying to stay organised about it. I also wonder about the job-search requirement.

Rules differ by state. I called the claims line and asked directly, then wrote down the answer and the date.
