Does severance delay my unemployment claim? after 9 years as a call-centre agent

I signed a severance agreement and I am worried about how to report it. I worked as a call-centre agent before this. I also wonder about the job-search requirement. Who should I ask before signing?

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
