Does severance delay my unemployment claim? - 6 months and counting

I was offered severance of 13 weeks after being let go as a warehouse supervisor and I am unsure how it affects benefits. Any experience at all would help. I have a mortgage and need to plan.

Some states only count certain kinds of severance. A local workforce centre could tell me which.
