Does severance delay my unemployment claim? - 6 months and counting

I was offered severance of 11 weeks after being let go as a copywriter and I am unsure how it affects benefits. I have read a lot of threads here and could not find my exact situation. I have a mortgage and need to plan. How did your state treat it?

Keep everything in writing and save the confirmation numbers. It made the follow-up calls so much easier.
